LOS ANGELES -- Michelin Group, President
and CEO Edouard Michelin gets a first-hand look at the L3 Research
Aeris high-performance parallel hybrid, one of 64 vehicles entered
in the Michelin Challenge Bibendum 2001, an independent international
competition that evaluates environmentally-innovative technologies
offered by auto manufacturers. The event, which kicked-off with
a design competition Friday, will include performance evaluation
events this weekend and will conclude at the Specialty Equipment
Marketing Association (SEMA) conference in Las Vegas Monday. Electric,
clean gasoline, fuel cell, hybrid, natural gas, diesel and bio-fueled
vehicles are represented.
